Kelly Alcala To the Tax Payers of Madison Township:

To the Tax Payers of Madison Township, I would like to take the opportunity to explain an error that occurred in the meeting that was held on Monday, July 27th at 9:00am. Information was submitted to the Mooresville Times in which there was a typographical error. The Notice of Hearing stated the proposed tax rate for the Cumulative Building and Equipment Fund was $0.33 per $100 of assessed value of property. The ad SHOULD have stated the proposed rate was $0.0333 per $100 of assessed value of p… Continue

Christina Scott ADM

I contacted ADM last night and had to make two phone calls before someone responded. It was 40 to 45 minutes later when they finally arrived. Of course by time they showed up the reason for the call was no longer happening. The kicker of it all was the person that came said they were sitting in one of the parks by Ridge Creek so that would have been under two minutes from my home. When ADM first started in the addition they were very prompt and seemed to be very interested in taking care of any… Continue

Christina Scott Pool Hours

I went to the pool Monday and noticed that the hours were changed effective July 4, 2009 that the hours have been changed to 10:30 am to 7:30 pm. Does anyone know why the changes occured and who approved the change in hours? I understand that the pool is for the children but it is the adults who pay the dues and the hours of operation is not for the working person. The hours previously were 10 am to 8:00 pm but with the daylight saving hours I thought that should stay open an hour later not c… Continue

Christina Scott Assoc Dues

Reminder for anyone who may have forgotten, assoc dues are due by 5/31/2009 Homeowners will be assessed a $60.00 late charge if payment is not received by 5/31/09 I just remember has to seach for the bill and went online and paid the $9.95 service fee but I figured it is better than to have to pay $60.00. Hopefully they will receive it in time and I won't have that huge late payment. Hopefully everyone was better than I and have already paid and don't have to worry and rush. Continue

Jenny LOOKING FOR SUMMER CARE FOR SCHOOL-AGED KIDS

Once again, I am in a dilema trying to find a place for my kids to go to this summer. My daughter will be starting 7th grade, so the Pioneer Park program is out for her. I also have a son who's 8 and will be going into the 3rd grade. And I would prefer that they stay together at the same place. I do not want them going to somebody's house that will be babysitting babies. I want them to be able to get out and do things - pool, park, field trips, that sort of thing with other kids who are around… Continue

James Bailey Watch your vehicle and make sure that they are secure!!!

There have been a number of vehicle break-ins at the local Meijer lately. The latest one that I have heard about was Friday evening about 5:30 in the evening, so it was still daylight. Whoever is doing the thefts knows what they are doing and are very careful not to get caught. They were caught on camera leaving the parking lot and heading back towards HC. If anyone knows any information please inform Hendricks county Police or Meijer security. They believe the same vehicle and people were the o… Continue

Danielle Pilot program in our township! Read Up...

4th grade is a crucial turning point for children. Did you know that if a child has not learned to read (and understand what he/she has read) by the 4th grade, they are starting down a path that often leads to not graduating? On Thursday, Dax Peterson, Community Resource Liaison at Lynwood Elementary School, spoke to the Decatur Central Lions Club about an important program being piloted in our township. ReadUP targets students who can benefit from additional reading practice and… Continue

Danielle Volunteers needed to help with Spring Carnival

The following request came in through my connection with the Decatur Central Lions Club, and I am hoping that members of this community might consider getting involved, too. Below are the only details I have but if you call Ann, I am sure she would be happy to elaborate. Lynwood Elementary School is hosting a Spring Carnival on Friday March 20, 2009 and is seeking volunteers. If you are able to assist with the event, please call Ann Painter at 243-7559 ext. 2105. Chris Smith CP Morgan has closed up shop!

CP Morgan is now out of business. This means that Northfield will remain unfinished unless another builder takes over the remaining lots. Like that's going to happen given the current economy. This isn't a recession - it's a Depression. Continue

Kelly Alcala Bad Economy....what business are still doing well?

This thought came up today as I was checking my email and my Mary Kay Director passed this along to our unit. It was great seeing that Mary Kay was on CBS. http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=4802246n&tag=main_home_MediaBox It got me thinking....what other businesses may be thriving in this down economy? My first thought would be heath care. I am sure that has not been that much changing in that fie… Continue
