Jimson Weed-Possible new teen drug experiment

Recently, some teens here in Heartland Crossing have discovered a plant called Jimson Weed. This weed is highly poisonous and is also a hallucinogenic LEGAL drug. It is also known as angel's trumpet, devil's weed, thorn apple, tolguacha, Jamestown weed, stinkweed, datura, moonflower. The high comes from eating/smoking the seeds, flowers, and/or brewing tea made from the plant.

Symptoms include incoherent speech, impaired coordination; rapid heartbeat; and dry, flushed or hot skin. In extreme cases, users can experience seizures, intense visual or auditory hallucinations, or cardiac arrest.

As a mother of a 13 year old, and neighbor to kids that I’ve watched grow up, I am extremely alarmed and concerned. I hope that this spreads fast enough that we don’t lose any kids to a new fad drug that will be experimented with just because it is available, legal, and we are uneducated about it.

scary stuff. I am very fortunate at the time mine is only 4 yrs old. alot of weeds are in the same category. when i was a kid i knew other kids who would smoke another type of weed. i think the parents tried to get it under control but weeds will grow where they want, can you imagine getting a ticket for a wild weed growing on your proptery? by the way not talking about the famous green weed, this one was in nevada and it was called indian tea, and you would either make tea or smoke the stem and or root.

That sounds like this one, Tyler. I'd never heard of it... One of my friends' brothers actually has brain damage from smoking it. Scary stuff!
